Title: finance question
Post by: bezzabsa on December 27, 2006, 22:05:38
cant remember if i posted this before- but due to me having the start of arthritus in my left knee it looks like my bike riding days are over  :( .. right so I have a 2004 suzuki bandit 600 on finance - still has 11 months left to pay, can I legally sell this and pay the balance off - or even sell it and transfer the hp to someone else????
dont want to sell - but no point in having a bike that im paying for but cant ride .. I wopuld be willing to sell it for the settlement figure + £500 for me - which is a big saving for someone.
its a 2004 with 5500 miles on the clock, has race exhaust (with standard available) corbin style saddle (again standard avail;able) colour matched hugger, and colour coded front fly screen...

and with hugger and new can

Yes to selling it with outstanding finance the paying it off, however many wont like this and prefer finance to be clear first.

Transferring finance...not sure if you can do this.

If you sell it.. which legaly you are not ment to
YOU ARE SOULY RESONSABLE FOR THE PAYMENTS

So if some one buys it saying they will pay the remaider
payment. and dont.. they will come to YOU for payment

Be carefull m8

Lee[/url]    nice bike thow..uset to have a 1200 myself

Your best bet is to sell it and take two bankers drafts, one for the finance co and one for the £500... check both drafts with the issuing bank / building society, you can not transfer the HP agreement to another or better....

Be aware that Bankers drafts & Building Society Cheques CAN BE CANCELLED and are not as good as cash, which has about £25m dodgey £ 20 notes at the mo, if at all possible you should call the finance company on collection of the bike and get the buyer to pay the finance off on a switch or credit card there and then.... make sure YOU dial the finance co and speak to them first and that you speak to them after too...

Believe me its a killer even thinking about selling the Bandit - especially after I brought it just after my suspected heart attack!,  but after getting rid of my 110 because of my knee - my brain is telling me that a bike is a no-no !
just cant justify keeping it just for 'in case' moments....
rather let someone else have the enjoyment!

Don't sell it 'till the summer

A it's fetch more money
B arthritis is one of those things that gets worse when you give in to it

Depending on the finance you may have tell them before you sell it, or settle up first.  The later should make the bike easier to sell though.

Irrespective of who owns the bike and what agrrement you make, the bike ca still be reclaimed by the finance company if the payments are not met, so outstanding finance always puts sensible people off.

If you sell it to a dealer they can sort the finance out, try asking though of course they will make you a cack offer unless they have punters waiting for one.

Nice coluor BTW.
