Post by: blackbob on December 28, 2006, 22:34:35
thinking of getting a mini digger and taking it to bulgaria to do some groung work and then i can hire it out when i have finished with it
question is what would be the best type and what sort of price would they go for  i have had a quick look on ebay but not many on there as its crimbo season
thinking that we will be driving over for the summer so as i got a trailer for the animal that can take 2.5 to 3 ton and the disco tows it with no prob also means i can bring back the mondeo and drive over with it the next time i go and i want to put a lpg system into the mondeo for long trips

I sold a JCB01 for just over 2 grand a couple of years ago.
The price changes with age, the advantage on the newer ones is that you don't get such a big rear swing.

What are the labour prices like in Bulgaria? I would have thought that by the time you have brought it and towed it there then you would get a lot of work done for that money.

we had a cesspit dug out and it cost about £300 for the digger hire so with the other ground work we need done and possable future hire it might be worth taking one over as we will be driving over any way

I also got a job done by a sitemaster; that was 500 quid to dig out and remove 500 tonnes.

If you really want one look at the hire firms and see if you can get one they are letting go make sure youa llow for parts though, a track is best part of 200 quid and the hoses can easily be 50 each. Also a lot of them are sold without buckets.
