has anyone fitted an air scoop to their td5 and does it make any difference to the hopeless heater

:lol: i tried one, works gr8 until i hit the wetstuff :roll:
then fills the heater up with water

I noticed you can get two types. one being the black plastic scoop and the other being the alloy grille with slighlty turned up fins. I thought the alloy one may be better and would prevent the heater getting sodden

Gets wet regardless of vernts and grills in my experience, tis a crap position and a crap design.

I bought 2 from innovation 4x4. Stainless steel Externally rolled pipes.
They look great together. The only thing is, theres a constant blow of air from the scoops so YES THEY WORK!!!!! 8) Perhaps too well.

I have the black plastic one on my heater intake on the 110.
Due to its induction characteristics the faster you go the better it works.
If you are sat in traffic, or driving slow off road it won't make a blind bit of difference to your heater air intake volume.
Down A roads, and motorway, now thats a different story. Works great then.
I'm impressed by such a simple piece of equipment

i've got a military snow deflecotr on my heater vent, i found the heater stil works a treat. before it was fitted the thing would blow regardless now it just blows when i turn it on.

thanks for that. I found one from ab landrover parts that look the dogs but is a bit pricey. may just go for the black plastic one
