My 300tdi has the bumper mounted rear tail lights, but i've seen a few driving around with bumper and light cluster tail lights.
I had to change my brake light bulbs today and noticed that they are the twin element type bulbs, and was wondering how to get them to illuminate ?
Any ideas ?

thats exactly what we have been seeing, we have only the lights on the bumper and seen them on the cluster units as well, and thats not the fog lights. :? :?

My last disco (a '94 300tdi) only had tail lights and indicators in the bumper, the ones on the corners were just fog and brake lights with no amber lenses. My newer '96 disco has them in both the bumper and the corners. Your best bet would be to get the rear lights from a 200tdi and fit them in splicing the wiring from the bumper lights (should be an easy job with a test lamp) I have also been told that maestro vans have the same back lights but I can't confirm this (knowing Rover it is plausable!!) Hope this helps

I treat myself to a pair of NAS lights for the LSE, I really fancied the extra running lights on the side and the original set were goosed.
I was dissapointed to find the yanks don't so fog lights, so the fog light is the stop light, without the ultra bright reflector and the side/stop lamp is just a side lamp. But wait, the bulb is a twin filament and if yo dismantle it then you can add/change the wiring to your hearts content, I even considerd having the fog lamp in the side lamp and the stop lamps seperate, but as the fog reflector (from the old lamp) was so much better I thought best not to.
So if the bulb is a twin filament then in some incarnation it was wired up.

Won't the disco 2 rear clusters fit ??

:? what on a disco 1, maybe they will if you made them fit

Mmmmm, maybe got a point there.
Think the 2's are mounted higher up the corner panel :?
