Title: tick over on a TDI

what should a 300 tdi tickover at, and how do i adjust it. mine seems a bit slow at around 5-600 rpm, or is this normal..

As long as its even, the slower the better - uses less fuel!

year thats true, just it needs a bit of a rev when pulling away.

Two things goverb tickover speed as recomended by a manufacturer, at the bottom is how slow it will idle smoothly, at the top is how fast it needs to go for the alternator to charge the battery.

norm idleing is around 700-750 ish give or take
so it'll move in gear at idle without konking  :lol:

If I rev my disco then let the acelerator pedal go uickly the engine drops and very nearly stalls and comes back to life and is happy idling at about 500-600rpm. I am guessing slightly higher tick over would improve pulling away a bit? just a guess though
