Does indeed look like fun....
2 questions, what size tyres are they?? and secondly, where did you get the rims? they look like Bronco's...??
-
hey ron....
the tyres are green way macho's and they are 265/75 r16
and i got the wheels from my local landrover dealer (land ranger services)
there where taken off a scrap car.... i payed £30 for five then stripped the paint off and sprayed them black
look better now
-
Well done.. they do look good, cheap too!!!!
I've got 285 75's waiting to go on mine!!! Just waiting for rims.... do i Mach 5 or not.....??? thats the question!!
-
id love some mach 5's but abit to much for me just for wheels
id prefer to spend the money on suspension mods
-
mach 5's over priced
look good
but if you have a locker or lockers
go in some deep mud and get a stick or bar trapped between them spokes, wave goodby to your caliper

I'm leaning towards 8x16 Modulars from Bronco, (increased offset) AND a wide angle rear prop... already got the front one.....

Sounds a bargain :D can you put tubeless tyres on modulars?
-
Ive got 33 12.5 x 16 's on 7j rims on the 110. Even when i run them at 14Psi they are fine. :D
-
yea you can
n ive run my simex at 15psi on these rims no probs even hit a tree stump on the sidewall which never nocked it off its rim
more luck afink really

Just curious, is that running with tubes or tubless?
-
tubless, tubes are crap, if it comes off the rim your screwed as they say
+ if the rim spins on the tyre, your screwed
i will fit staun 2nd air at some point, or maybe mach5 beadlocks, see how much this v8 90 project robs me 1st
dan
-
I'm leaning back towards the Vogue 3 spokes, as the saying goes, not worth stealing
-
I run vogue 3 spokes on my disco... so cheap I might aswell throw them away when the tyres wear out...
can be found for less than a fiver each at the autojumbles...
-
Nices pics of the disco at the beginning - what wheel nuts are you using on those steel rims? they look like the ones off alloys?

I try'd that once.
It was like driving on egg shapped wheels
-

i aint got round to buying some steel ones yet, think its a must do tho

How are the wheels Tom...???
-
Absolutly great thanks Ron, they make it look so good, only thing was is I put them on and went to test it out and blew up the diff so have to take the front 2 back off, looking good though cheers
-
-
hey tom bad news on the dif poping, but must say how nice your disco looks with those wheels and tyres on!!!!
ive seen another disco with the same wheels and tyres on, just cant remeber whos they were????????
oh yeah it was ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I'm using the nuts off the alloy wheels on my steel rims. Is there a problem in doing that, or is simply an aesthetics thing?
-
Alloy nuts dont have the taper to centralisethe wheel. Steel ones do. You could file flanges on to the alloys ones o machine them but for the sake of £20 or so quid is it worth it ?? Alloy ones are not designed to tighten on that part either. They tighten on the face about halfway up hence the spinning washer.
I would say get the correct ones.
