no why?
-
you just need toilet roll tube, glue, stickyback plastic and some glitter.
make sure your mom helps you if you have to use sissors.
-
i just need some instructions to help me make one. please
-
not sure exactly how but, its basically drainpipe tube, a bit of flexy tube to join to the air intake, and jobs a good'un, and the reference to blue peter is the fact there is really no wrong way (within reason) to make one, its just a pipe that joins the air filter box to a spout to roof level.
-
thanks, all i need now is some pictures! to help me along!
-
Can pick em up for less than £75 now so why not just buy one, saves messing around, throwing bits away as cut too short blah blah etc
-
i wonder how much it cost to make one? i have some drainpipe in the workshop! what do i use for the top?

you can buy the pre cleaner for the top seperate, or pinch one off a tractor or somthing.

'pinch one off a tractor', you mean ask a farmer if he has a spare one?

I made my own and used the £75 I saved to buy a CB - lot easier to DIY a snorkle than a CB :)
No plans as such just go for it as I did http://www.landrovernet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79277
Cost me nothing as I had left over bits of pipe :)
Also, mine doesn't exit at the side where it could be ripped off on narrow lanes

You mean ask the farmer if he still has one thats intacked, most suitable pre clearers are exposed to low braches.
-
i live on a farm, we have cows, what do i take of a tractor? the exhaust?
-
i put a rebel snorkel on my 90 and used a hover pipe that goes from the top of the snorkel to the air filter as there were holes in the pipes

That really sucks....
where's the coat hook anyone?

Go to a plumbers merchants. Use flexi hose from airbox/carb whatever and the attach to drain pipe. Plastic drain pipe can be warmed and bent slightly to follow vehicle lines, its cheap enough to experiment with and every towm has a store selling replacement parts (B&Q)
-
my SJ i had flexi pipe from the air box to the drain pipe, they cut a hole where i wanted it to come out got some mountings and then just had it up the screen with a 45 dg angle on the top with a piece of mesh on the top to stop the crap gettin in

i used square drain pipe on my old shoggy and a square to round adaptor to fit it to the filter box, it was all purchased from the plumbers merchants.
