quick question the cold has finished off my poor battery on the 90, just curious can you bump start a diesel like you can petrols :? astra gsi seats dont give the instant access to the battery like lanny seats do :x lol
-
I have done it in the past, got a feeling it's easier in low range.
-
cheers.... got jump lead on back of alternator and used a spare battery... worked a treat lol
-

   It's been a while, I prefer the jump start if I need anything as I'm lazy
-
its easy to bump start them... first or second.. whichever. we've had to do it loads of times because our battery is crap. that should be sorted now though thanks to dreadnaught110
-
Also try warming the battery up, it's a chemical reaction after all.
-
recon its the cold that finished it off.... ok after a good run but not usein it everyday at min so recon it will be flat again when i need it

Get yourself a set of these (see pic) - don't need to get your seat out then! Drop me a pm if you do.
Some people do say you shouldn't bump start a diesel... but I've never seen any proof as to damage caused.

cant see why it would cause any damage anyway? bump starting it isnt much different to starting it using the starter, surely? works for us, anyway :)

£65 + £5.00p&p (UK mainland) for the standard length. And then an extra £10 for the black cover/seal if wanted.
Comes complete with all stainless steel fixings needed.
Can also do a set with an isolator switch if wanted.
