HI GUYS.......
I'm thinking of getting a GRP rear tailgate for my RRC,
The one on my RRC is getting a bit long in the tooth, not bad but not good.
Has anyone got any experience of these?
What are they like?
Can you load stuff on them?
Can you sit/stand on them?
My RRC is my off road toy, will it take the stress and abuse?
What kind of price are they new or second hand?
Any info would be gratefully accepted.
Muddy new year to you all.........
Cheers.

I would think you could get a good second hand tailgate for a lot less than a GRP one - fill it with waxoil before you fit it and I'm sure it would do you fine for off road work
Saying all that I am curious to know what GRP ones are like so maybe you should just buy one and let me know

IIRC Paddocks/Craddock/MM4x4 advertise one in LRO. The ad has a piccy of a V8 lump sat on the tailgate so I think that answers yer loading question. As to the price... £180 ish IIRC.
As t whether it stands up to the rigours of off road... it's not a structural member so I don't think handling will sufffer... as long as you don't go backwards into too many trees I think it should be ok.
