Title: Cooper Tyres??
Post by: CNorman on January 06, 2007, 12:15:04
Have heard a bit about cooper tyres lately and wanted to find out more however i can not find a UK website, the US website is slow and pretty poor on information and overall i would say that they seem to be a bit harder than other tyres to find information on.

Does anyone know if there is a UK site to look at and where to find information.

To be honest i would be concerned about aftersales and information etc judging by their current performance on web etc.

Cooper tyres are/were imported into the UK by www.sintontyres.co.uk here in Milton Keynes. They operate a consumer website named www.tyrespec.co.uk

Hope that helps

I have Cooper ST's on my Disco. I saw them at the LRO show
at Malvern and bought them from Tyrespec website. At the time, last summer, they were only £65 per corner.
They work really well off road, and are well behaved on road.
If they are still at that price, I'd say go for em .

How about the ST's?  I checked and it seems only the ST (not the STT) is imported into Japan.  I'd rather have the STTs (they look pretty rugged, and with nice sidewall protection) but I may end up going with BFG M/Ts.

Don't bother with STT they're not as good as BFG.

They're more like a very good A/T than an aggressive M/T.

Wear is good, so they'll do the mileage but they seem to clog easily and they don't "bite" into loose surfaces just scrabble.

imspanners, are you talking about the old STT or the new one. I have a set of the newer ones (£88 each as said above) and I can't fault them so far. The old STT was a much simpler tyre, more like a generic MT and no where near as good.

Cheers,

Steve.

I'm using ST's on my D2 as a kind of halfway between an AT pattern and a MT pattern. So far I have been thoroughly impressed. Got mine from Davon Tyres http://www.davontyres.co.uk and the sell through E Blag too
