Title: Dead disco ?
Post by: bullfrog on January 07, 2007, 12:56:18
I have just got a disco 300 Tdi as a swap deal with a chap on another forum. I have a problem. The drivers door lock turns but does not lock/unlock the car.
Thats not a huge worry.

My main problem is the car seems to have imobilised itself.
I put the key in the ignition and the indicators flash and it wont stat I get dash lights etc.
I read in the owners book that I can enter a code via the door lock but I dont have the code either !

HELP !

Do you have some sort of security card that would have been with the truck when it was new?? if yes, the code is on that..... i had the same grief with a rover 200, i ended up with a new fob off the net, 39quid if i recall.....

Did you get the car like this or has it developed the fault afterwards?

get in touch with landrover. you will need the your disco and log book and if they happy it is yours they can get the door code (and radio) from landrover records.
Thats how i got my radio and door lock codes.

Now I am stuck. It started ok and has worked for a coule of weeks fine but wednesday it would not start so today I removed the dash ready to "fix" the spider unit.
Oh I dont have one ?????
Now what.
With no remote and no spider unit I am at a loss ?
I get dash lights but it just clicks on a relay. Its not the starter.
Help ?? :?:
