I saw in this month's LROI that the chap showing the green lanes on the Wirral had a bed in the back of his 90.

Has anyone done this? How easy was it to fabricate?

I saw that, looks very easy to do some bits of wood but his did not look that strong also you would have to make it over the front seat for the length or if your 4ft then thats all right. :wink:

That was the bit that confused me. Either he's a midget, or anyone who wants to use the passenger seat has to be. It looked to be more than just removing the headrest didn't it!

You could build it so it hinges where the rear bulkhead is so then when its not in use it would fold back on itself and when you are using it you recline the passenger seat all the way forward and fold the hinged part out. 8)

Duh!

Of course - I didn't think to fold the passger seat forwards!!

I guess the (other) difficult bit would be where to have the supports!

I used to sleep in the back of my 90 quite comfortably and I'm 6'2.

My bed was made of 4x2 timber with 9mm ply on top. 2 lengths of 4x2 stretched between the back of the body and the centre bulkhead and I had a hinged section which folded out over the passenger seat that was supported by a length of 4x2 standing in the footwell.

Im gonna be doing roll out slats in my 110 when i get round to it.... Other things are higher on my todo list atm. Ill be installing a backwards facing seat sofaish style where the second row of seats in a SW go... they shall come to roughly the height ot the wheel arch boxes....(i little higher) Then i shall have a slat system that runs out from under the seats across the wheel boxes to the back door. And have the padding that makes the seat also extend out a bit like a sofa bed really. Easy in and easy out....

our solution for the 3rd bed in our 110 was to fit a bulkhead removal bar and custom make a bench seat. This then allowed a sheet of wood from under the rear bench seat to be slid forward over the folded forward passenger seat (with seat base removed and put in the footwell) and the cushion from the back rest of the bench seat placed as part of the mattress.
