Well as some of you may know I have a bike on finance , and due to my knee problems I asked about selling it - http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=34430&highlight=finance -
well today they actually gave me a settlement figure of
£3282.38
Now bearing in mind the bike was only £3500 new, and I have been paying for it for 2 years, so I rang them and queried it - according to them I had a 4 year finance term (thought I'd had it over 3)
so my only course of action now is to give the bike back to the finance company as a voluntery repossession and get a black mark against my name  , as the person I had interested in the bike aint gonnna pay £200 less than a new bike - for a 2 year old one!!!!
Any other ideas??
apart from 'losing' it - or similar..
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
-
Wow!
Is that because of an early settlement fee? I would ask them for a written confirmation and breakdown of charges. Even if they are charging the whole 4 years of interest, it's hard to believe it should be that much.

Sounds like the structure of the loan.
i.e. the interest is payable primarily and then the capital is paid off secondly. This is usually stated in the small print of the agreement.
[person of questionable parentage] are banks.

You could consider visiting the Moneysavingexpert site and look up "card tart" as one option. Though they have lots and lots of advice that is fantastic in my experience and costs nowt.

I have a loan I got out just to get me a credit history and to pay for a bit of my caravan. the loan is in a high intest account so the interest on the loan is the same as the account I have it in. I looked into paying it back a few years early and I had a similar thing. They said I pay the interest off first and then pay the loan off so it is going to be cheaper for me to keep it in the account and just keep paying it back slowly. Does mean in a few years I will have a wod of dosh I can play with.

Not sure how finance works in England but up here once you have paid half the no. of payments you can legally hand the bike (or whatever) back to the finance co. with no penalties or black marks - could it be the same down there ?
Failing that would the bike like an extended holiday in the Highlands ?

Stick it in the shed and pay the finance off, the bikes got to be worth more than that way once it's yours to sell.
Or pray something happens to it, not that I condone doing anything on purpose you understand [-X
But a LR will make a b***dy mess of it

right trousers are 40" waist(wifes) and 44" waist (mine)- but these are adjustable to make smaller
jackets i'm not too sure of sizes..mine was tight  on the 2nd zip..(it has 2) and im about a 48-50 chest (and gut) so some where between 45 and 50 " - also adjustable, wifes jacket is probably 40 - 45 chest..both jackets and trouser have zips built in to make a semi-1 piece suit - or wear seperately .
Both Black in colour ..
will try and sort some pix out if your interested ..

Hmmmmm how does that work?? pay balance of £3282.38 and put it away for another 2 years depreciation
Then get £2000 for it ???
I have no real answer, you cuold always visit a known hot spot for m/c theft
-
Thanks bezzabsa.
Unfortunetly it is my lad who is after some leathers and he is 5`10" and about 8 stone when wet so a little too roomy for him.
As for peoples advice about visiting theft hotspots just remember the insurance company will only give you market value (lower book price) and that will not cover the finance so you end up still paying for a bike you no longer have ](*,) ](*,)

So the only winner is the finance company
