Has anyone used this and actually received any offers?
-
I've seen it but not used it. But surely an auction is a best-offer sale anyway? What's the difference? :?
-
When a reserve is posted but not reached... the vendor can request a best offer.

Would reccomend this seller, 36 hours from offer to my doorstep, still sealed in orig pack :D
Its just like a 'buy it now' that you can turn down

me to just brought a motorola phone seller wanted 65 bin i offered 40 and she took it
well chufft

I reckon it's a great idea as you have full control whether to accept offers or not, and if you do accept then it is as binding as any ebay auction
I recently sold my TD5 Discovery on buy it now or best offer and actually got offered more than I wanted as I had set the buy it now price high !
Hope it wasn't you that bought it mind

Yes it was, you *(&^%*& nah, not really
I'm trying to sell my car at the moment and had no response (from 3 different ads) so far :( I'm depressed :( It's not fair :( Anyone know the number for the Samaritans?

I know what you mean  - I had to relist 4 times before it went though, so stick with it - it will go eventually
You could of picked a better time to sell mind you !
I left a week between relists so that hopefully it was a different set of "customers" each time - I wasn't in a hurry though

ive bought and sold using best offer...seems a pretty good idea to me

best offer is crap if you're a seller. a while ago they changed the way you could contact members...
you USED to be able to respond to a best offer and for example say "nope wont accept £200 but ill take £250" but all you can do now is accept or decline. they've almost completely stopped you sending messages too.
really annoying for me, because its rare that the best offer is any use... but in the instance that its close, theres no way to get in touch with the person making the offer

you should be able to find their user name, and contact user that way...?

you should be able to find their user name, and contact user that way...?
The problem there is ebay partially hide the user name of anyone making a best offer making it nearly impossible to contact them - best hope is that they up their offer

almost there! they partially hide the user name AND only show a small amount of users in the search results... naturally, the one you want is never there.
i have only ever found the user that made the offer once... tried to send a message, and was greeted (AFTER messing with the stupid verification code) by a message that basically says "ebay has just ignored your message, because we want to - it hasnt been sent".
