Want to fit a set on the Disco, will put alloys on, what do you run, can i use the cheaper e bay one 150 quid or do i need the TUV, alloy locating ones bt scorpion at 250 ? anyone run either??
-
I run the Scorpion ones and have never had a problem with them.
With something critical like your wheels, would you want to use something that hasn't been tested or approved? :?

Very True!

I use the Scorpion ones for exactly the same reasons. My wife and kids ride in the Disco, its worth £100 for the peace of mind.
I'd look around though, I'm sure you'll be able to find approved ones at a better price. £250 is £70 more than I paid from scorpion a year ago.

Do you have a number/link for the ebay ones you are thinking of? I bought some from ebay and I'm very happy with them. I thought they were a bit expensive for what they were but after fitting wider wheels the steering lock was just stupid :x With the spacers fitted I get a better lock than with standard tyres :D

Although TUV approved (which isn't that hard apparently if made abroad) I still don't like alloy wheel spacers.... have known them to crack.
I run steel ones from Kenson 4x4 (who make them - but also avaliable from QT services) - they are also the proper hubcentric type that should be used with alloys (really with any wheel IMHO). Very well made, and very strong!!!
And cheaper than the alloy Scorpion ones... and better than some of the ones I've seen on EBay

I don't think they have a website... as in all honesty most of their stuff is sold straight onto other retailers.
Their details are:
Kenson Ltd

West Midlands
Tel: 0121 505 3668
Speak to John if you ring...
