The 110's power steering has been suffering oddness recently. First it seemed as though there was a satellite delay in the power steering kicking in when turning the wheel.
Further experimentation showed this only became apparent when turning the wheel to the left.
I lubricated the UJ's as advised in case this was the problem but no change.
I have today tightened the pulley belt which has helped, in now is only apparent at really low rpm so I guess the belt may be slipping, however...
The pump has clearly been leaking during my experiments and UJ lubrication. The pump constantly sounds when the wheel is being turn as you would expect a pump to sound at full lock... i.e. as though being overworked, sort of lots of pressure with no where to go.
I've been for a run since tightening the belt and no leak is apparent but the pump still sounds like it's being worked hard.. or could this be the sign of worn bearings and a pump on it's way out?
Things have definately improved since I tightened the belt but the leak and the noise now has me concerned that the pumps days are numbered.
Of course it could be something wrong with the box too but I thought I would ask my learned friends there thoughts. :)

Try bleeding an topping up, could be air in the system but TBH it does sound a bit worrying. Mines been playing up since I had the alternator reconned and fitted new belts, just too many new parts in one day I guess. The headlilghts flicker and the PAS pulses/steering shakes almost as if the pulley is bent :?

MOT sometime soon so we'll see how we go but looks like it's got to be done anyway. :(

Are they a feasible rebuild or does one just bite the bullet and cough up for a new one?
