They are a pain in the backside.
I once had a guy travel from Bradford when I was selling my old Toyota, said he wasn't happy with the car.... Fine, thats his choice, then said I was insulting him and his family when I wouldn't accept his offer of a 50% reduction

I eventually sold it for the asking price... There is always one

I was just annoyed, because all it takes is a courtesy phone call to say "Sorry, can't make it" - would've saved me waiting in all morning for nothing!

It is annoying, and these people on ebay who make an offer, then you accept it and they dont bother turning up, i now wont end an ebay listing early if i get an offer.

If you do sell a car on ebay, what I do is finish it on a sunday evening, then have a viewing day the saturday before... no hassle if no one shows up.

People can be a**es at times, my mate's in the trade and gets it all the time.  TOp Tip, when someone on Flea bay asks you to end an auction early, I say "yes, as soon as you get here with the cash".  But you're right, no-one ever thinks to ring and say they changed their mind, better to leave someone watching the clock instead, think it's just cowardice in their part.
