Before you start NO I dont love my GKN OD that much were getting married....well....not yet...we need to get to know each other and.....ehmmm....anyway!!!
Ok serious stuff.
* Sometimes it activates and engages like silk. However, I dont like the shunt or boom I get on the transmission when this happens. I dont think this can be good for the system. I also believe this maybe to do with my current problem enquired about on here also.
* I ALWAYS depress the clutch to disengage....less of an awakening for the engine and is as a nice hassle free change. Unless Im going up a hill...then I can disengage and it does it sweet as a nut, no judder.
* MAIN POINT. Im going to despress my clutch as normal from now on when ENGAGING and release when its in: WILL THIS HAVE ANY ADVERSE EFFECTS ON THE O/D???THE MANUAL SAYS IT IS DESIGNED/CAN HANDLE TO BE ENGAGED ATFULL POWER/NORMAL POWER.
I know some ppl say get some difflock evolution oil to combat this but it wont completely remove this 'high energy shunt' from the transmission.
 :P

I have found that as long as you are you are powering at the time of engagement it's smooth and i normaly use the clutch for coming out of overdrive unless the revs are low or under power again..Hope this helps?? :? where abouts in the country are you?? 8)

Yes I de-clutch when engaging the overdrive. A smoother change for some reason.
I don't use my clutch at other times when changing gear though.
I wonder why I can't get the overdrive bit right
