how do you bleed a j reg rrc abs brakes???
front brakes can't seem to get them to bleed in the conventional way!

if any body can help it would be very much appeiciated

Sim,

You'll need to bleed the ABS block in the engine bay. I can let you have the process but I'd have to look it up and post it and bit rushed... SWMBO on way home and loads to do!  :oops:  :smack:

simon has done what it says but they have gone rock hard, i can only just push the pedal down and thats not very far at all.

if anyone knows why we would be very grateful as it goes for its retest tommorrw

Mine are rock hard, they hardly move.  The RRC abs is like power brakes, different from the Disco system.

Anyway, check that none of your callipers are seized.  Do the brakes let off at all? if so take it for a short run and check their performance, under the latest advice this is all the MOT tester can do (Don't let him put it on a rolling road).

You may just be the best bleeder in town :wink:

there is brakes but they are not enough to stop you in an emergency.  if this is how the brakes of an abs rrc is then i dont like them

mine has very little pedal travel, but can put you through the windscreen!!!!!

Clearly there is some other kind of problem. As other posters have said this RRC brake system has very little pedal movement for very solid braking.

I'd suggest getting it looked at by your local Land Rover specialist (Don't trust the Kwik or Fast folks!)
