I have a clarke one from machine mart. Does the job.
-
how much are we all paying for them? :D
-
scaffold pole - and wait for the 'crack' ;)
lol

Only one for me and that is the classic range from Britool, expensive yes but reliable for each and every bolt tightened - saves having to redo cylinder heads every other month

Mine was £39.99 with a Halfords trade card
-
why buy one, when youve got your own. Just count the white knuckles

saves having to redo cylinder heads every other month
That must get annoying.
-
you dont really need one for that kind of application, F - TIGHT is generally the rule. If you buy one for that end of the spectrum it probably wont go low enough to do things like head bolts etc.

Halfords, it was about £60, but worth it, realy nice tool....

I reckon it would but I've never had to do it - decent torque wrench see

Actually that's a point. Perley for doing up the tow bar I wouldn't worry about stripping an M16 thread like that, I stand on my spanners to get them tight.
a good torque wrench is a sound investment though and IIRC mine goes form 10 to 150 LB/FT so it covers the correct ranch for a towball. But f - tight LB/FT is near enough.

have a Halfords one its OK :)
Years ago purchased a bar and indicator one for £5 which measures the defection of bar. Recently found out its the only way to set the torque on a timing belt
Glad I kept it :D

i have a few for different ranges, got a 1/4in Blue-Point (£150), 3/8in Blue-Point(£160), 1/2 Challenge from Argo(£15), 1/2 Snap-on(£190) and 3/4 Snap-on (£550)
i have used the argos one on numerous ocasions and it is still accurate if i check withone of my snap-on ones and it has been used as a hammer aswell have had it for 4 or 5 years now
that is the sort of thing you need the cat no. is 701/3887

Wont trust anything else but snapon, you get what you pay for, and snapping bolts off in cylinder blocks aint funny, go with the best, had mine 16 years and it still passes its torque test every year !!!!
