Title: sun visor mounts
Post by: burgerman on January 18, 2007, 13:05:53
Howdy all, Wifey has a Td5 csw, and the passengers side sun visor has pulled its screws out of the headlining, the cause was a seized visor, but now i cant get a screw to hold its self in there ??   im guessing it has a catch/ plastic thingy behind it ?? But also looks like the headlining/screen has to come out to replace, And im defnitaly not going down that route for a sun visor, well not  untill the screen is replaced,    Any ideas ??

What about a spring toggle type fixing you get for putting shelves up on plasterboard sort of thing?

My 110's not here at the moment, else I'd have a look - but from memory it's a machine screw that holds the sunvisor, and the screw goes through the headlining into a captive nut in the top of the windscreen surround - its a bit of a bu&&er to line up the screw when the lining is in place.

was  definately a self tapper that came out, (same on the other side also) it feels like a plastic captive fixing type of thing, tried a slightly larger scre, no sucess, might pop down to a b&q type place and see what they have to offer ?? many thanks for the replys, will let ya know how we get on
