how can i make the disco accelerate faster 300tdi
-
heavier right foot ;)
-
disconnect the egr and fit a snorkel.
-
Nitros...NOS, however you will probably need a new engine at the end of the run.
-
done the egr already dont think the wife wants a snorcal
-
...hhmm snorkels can look really smart, those mantec ones you cant really see them and the safari ones...well, just looks sick(good)! :)

also it is believed the safari ones give a ram air effect too. how much truth i dont know.

GIVE HER MORE DERV :D :D :D

Only ever drive downhill or swap the 300Tdi for a V8 or fit really small wheels/tyres or, more sensibly, uprate the intercooler, tweak the fuel pump, uprate the turbo, not sure how much further you can go from there.
I think the ram effect from the snorkel is only really effective from about 90mph+

My disco has never had the wind behind me down hill before so never got to that speed

To get more power there are two simple things you can do, firstly make sure your tdi is running right in the first place, filters and oil ok? no brakes binding?
Ok on top of the injection pump you have device called the LDA that stands for load dependancy actuator, not sure on the spelling, any way remove the 12mm pipe and union from the side of the top hat housing, then remove the 4 straight headded screws, carefully remove the top making sure the diaphram stays in place, ok looking at the rubber diaphram make a mark at 12 o`clock, then spin the rubber round till the mark is at 2 o`clock or there abouts, then replace the top and the pipe, also worth checking that the pipe to the lda has no hole in it, that will cause a massive lack of power,
Ok next job is to turn up the fuel,on back of the injection pump you will see a stud sticking out just below the LDA, it might have a seal on it, if it has remove it, undo the lock nut but dont move the screw as u undo the lock nut, hold it still, then wind in the fuel screw 1 to 2 flats, then check for smoke on rev up, and adjust to suit,
Did mine the other day makes so much difference, also bin your EGR if you have it fitted, hope this makes sense, good idea to bin the cat if you have one too

done that to my 90 & a few other tweaks incuding a big intercooler & its making good figures now

Tweaking the pump as mentioned above makes LOADS of difference, instead of messing around removing the egr valve take off the thin rubber vacuum pipe pushed onto the side of it and find a screw or ball bearing that fits snugly in the pipe and push it back on (they used to do this on new 300 tdi's then if your main stealer has a look under the bonnet they don't know you have been tampering). I am not sure if it has the same effect as full removal but my mate who is a LR technician says it does.
