bit sad now my daughter failed her driving test today
told her better luck next time and paid half her test fee as a consolation as i don't want her to give up on trying to pass
-
Sorry to hear that. Give her our best wishes for the next time. I'm sure she'll do better.
What did she fail on?
-
clipped a curb and reverse around corner

Those sound like a nerves type of thing. It's so easy to let nervousness get the better of you.

Hey most of us make mistakes from time to time, its just unlucky hers was in her test. Most people dont pass first time anyways so she needent worry yet :)
-
Unlucky to her. :(
When I took my minibus test my examiner at the end of the test once he said I had passed he asked if it was my first time or not and he didnt think it was. I told him it was my first attempt and he came with a reply of, if I had known that I would have failed you  I couldnt belive it.
I hope your daughter doenst get a numpty like my minibus examiner. Keep us informed on how she does and dont let her give up.

I wouldn't worry about it, i passed 3rd time, and so did my other half... failing your driving test is gutting for about a day... then it really doesn't matter.
Get her to book another one, so she's got something to work towards...
-
I didn't pass till seconed time passed me class 1 3rd time they do say you become a better driver if you fail the first time keep going you'll do it
-
Failed mine the other week, on one thing. Ended up in the wrong lane of a roundabout, and that was that. :(
he came with a reply of, if I had known that I would have failed you  I couldnt belive it.
I may be wrong on this, but I do get the feeling (as do other instructors, at least around here) that the DSA is more of a money making organisation!
-
Best tip I was given is to take yourtest at about 9am as then the rush hour has just finished, no nerves during the day building up to the test and also the rumour of examiners are only allowed to pass so many people each day so if they hit thier quota of passes by 3pm for example any test after that is a fail. As you say. It is a money making organisation.
-
we did here that they will fail u on 1st attempt if they can this way puts some people of taking test again and those that try again means more money paid to them its a no win game have to catch them in a good mood
-
I often think examiners are a law unto themselves, but all this stuff about quotas is just c**p. The more people taking the test, the more test fees they get but with waiting lists as they are the DSA is very keen to see the pass rate RAISE, but only as a result of pupils being better prepared for the test.
Watch out though, the test is rumoured to be getting harder.

Took Me 4 Times to pass my car Test .
And 2 times to pass my bike Test .
Just tell her to keep in there she will get it
-
On my daughter's second test she got carved up by another car on a roundabout when she had right of way, and failed because of it
-
Took me 3 attempts.
1st time wasn't ready so the Instructor put me first to give the 2 guys after me a better chance.
2nd time. The exmainer failed me then said if you take the test next week you will pass!
3rd time passed, but with so many x's on the sheet that if I'd have done one more thing wrong I wouldn't have!
1st 2 times were with the army and there is no fee generation, so the 2nd fail looks more and more like a quota!
