Title: help needed, Looks like i've tried to be ripped off on eBay
Post by: VogueSe_paul on January 22, 2007, 20:02:41
i won http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=008&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=180069878501&rd=1&rd=1 2 weeks ago, The winch turned up today a week late and its not the same winch in the listing,

the one in the picture has hexangle bars and the one i got has round bars and looks well scrached up.  Am going to report it to ebay/Paypal, Whats the odds that i'll be successful in getting a refund, Woundn't of bossered bidding if i knew it was a old winch,

My brother thinks that they have swopped it was a mate as it turned up a very late, It was also missing the fairlead

the sellers name is Jon Norman, from tollesbury, Essex i hope its not a member on here.

False advertising.

If the chap wont refund your money and then collect the item, file a claim with paypal for a chargeback. Make sure you get ya money back before releasing the item though, even if it is clearly a different one.

get your money back,

if you success take it to a small claims court, obtaining funds by deception, ive been through this process, you'll get your money back easy.

ive been ripped off this week as well, the only problem i have is , i received funds through paypal, and ive got proof of postage and a signature, they claimed their money back and got it £100+, so im £100+ down and no items, there are people out there just to make a scam of everything..

not sell anything on ebay ever again.
paypal account closed

or if you have his address from ebay go and see him, i tend to pay most stuff with a cheque as it gives me an address to post to.
my friend had a similar problem to yours but he was in gatwick and the seller was in north wales near holyhead, funny thing was we were working in Ireland the next week so he rang the guy and said he,d be round to collect strangely a courier turned up next day with the item

I wouldn't accept anything but a full refund.  As it is I'd value it at £30 tops.

ebay is an absolute nightmare for both buyers and sellers, the problem is the world we live in is full of [unpleasent fellows].
i would be heading of to see him, give him his winch back via his front window, and when he comes out to see whats going on, take him to the edge of life and death and then kick him in the face as hard as you can.
hopefully at this point you have removed one more or lifes little problems.
