Are there any real power gains to be had by b@@@rig about with the exhaust on a 200tdi? (More splicing in freer-flowing boxes than spendingg loads on a proper system)
-
cant say it would be the same for you, but we just had our center box off and it seemingly runs quite a lot more freely now
edit - defender that is, but the theory is there
-
As above.
Bin the center box and replace with a straight pipe.
Better gas flow, and so far no problems with the MOT.
Pete.
-
AND it will sound gorgeous ;) ours does!
-
I just cut the centre out of mine and slooted a piece of straight pipe in... goes very well, esp with a tweak on the pump..;)
-
Got a 2.5" stainless freeflow pipe on my disco.
same as the ones sold by twisted performance.
( used to work at the place that made them so made one for myself. just modified it slightly so it had better ground clearance and so the rear pipe had more clearance on the rear a frame for a 3" lift)
big improvement on standard pipe.
and sounds the dogs

Birdy,
I have a mate with a classic Rangey, and he removed both boxes, and literally ran with just a pipe..... do you think that would be legal?? it wasn't very loud, sounded nice though, i'm toying with the idea of getting some straight pipe and making my own system.....

suppose it depends on if the mot person had a wobbler on
-
a mate of mine runs a 200 disco with a 2.0" steel pipe front to back with no box's on it .and gets a mot every time.
like they say it who you know
-
Well, i have a decent mot guy locally anyway, so thats not really an issue i guess...
Cheers!

Just had a price for this company £250 fitted for a stainless one 2 1/2 inch but this doesn’t have any silencers on. http://www.stainless-exhaust.com
works now
