As you all know i went and got me a disco 300tdi last week, as i dont pick it up till next week, im looking around for insurance,
well my current insurer quoted me £49 pm,(£588 per year) which think is quite high,
which is the best insurance for g/laning, a few mods etcc...
im 33 clean license,10+yrs ncd,
-
personally i use the NFU got the house, caravan, dog and 2 cars with them... 8) 8)

Adrian flux just insured me at £225
Thats a V8 with a lift, bigger tyres and a winch.
Without using any no claims, but they did take into account that I have 5yrs on my other car.
I rang around a few and that was the best I could find.
-
does that include cover for 'green laning' as ive heard a few m/clubbers saying that you should really be covered.
but 225 sounds good to me.
-
Sureterm direct, insures my 300 tdi with mods for 150 per year, includes green laning.
-
Yes it includes greenlaning and off roading as long as its not race compition stuff.
-
This being insured for greenlaning really gets to me, a green lane is nothing more than a muddy road infact as the name suggests a green lane, it doesnt even have to be muddy! now as your car has to be taxed, mot'd and insured and ALL traffic laws apply on these ROADS why do you need to be insured differently to a regular road! or am i missing the point?

When I was insured with Norwich union they said I wasnt covered for green lanes as it was off road, i said its not off road its off tarmac, they agreed and said I was covered.
-
Over £1k for the year for me :(
Was getting quotes around £500 when I first decided I was getting my Disco 300tdi Commercial, then I ended up buying it sooner than planned by losing control of my Ford Focus on the A44, didn't do the quote any good though!
Strangely I could have insured it cheaper on a commercial policy also including personal use, but it needed to be paid in 1 lump sum, which wasn't an option :(
Doesn't help that I'm also 21 (22 next week). Did pride myself on being one of the young drivers who ends up paying stupid rates of insurance thanks to the crap driving of others, then I ended up getting my moneys worth out of Norwich Union and became one of those statistical crap drivers!

confused.com
if its your daily hack
i ended up with lancaster cost around £244 watch out for restrictions though
if its a second motor then ring round the specialists
could be less than £200 with limited milage and mods 8)

I'm went through Adrian Flux and ended up with Red Star insurance. Quite cheap, about the £250 mark fully comp. Green Lanes are technically roads, so insurance should cover you. I have yet to test this and hopefully won't have to.
Good hunting.
-
I got my insurance who was advertising on here for my 300tdi. £275 all found which I thought was good. Used Lancaster for my 200tdi would never touch them again!!!!!!!!!
-
well thanks for all your advice and ips ive gone with adrian flux at £280 and thats a saving of £308. mmm maybe a lift kit or snorkle, :P :P
-
Well done =D> Adrian Flux seem to be the best around at the moment thats who i am with they beat all the other companies by a mile!!!!!!!
-
I found that 90% of the companys on confused.com dont do mods. Maybe it was my area but wouldnt have thought so.
-
ive just done one of our discos with tescos £250 fully comp, thought that was quite good.
