This question has very likely been asked before but I would still like to know the answer.
I have just done the journey from Warwickshire to Derbyshire in my LPG powered Defender.
Morrisons in Coventry are selling LPG at 39.9p a litre (so I filled up to the bump and beyond).
As I came along the A5 in Hinckley the BP station is charging 48p litre.
That is more than 20% less at Morrisons, so is Morrisons selling at a loss or is BP ripping us off?
I know that discount petrol is difficult as most of it is tax and you don't get a discount from Mr Brown.
But as the supplier in both cases is the same (Autogas) and I understand that this is owned by Calor Gas, you are not going to tell me that Morrisons has more buying power than BP.

local [throw it] pot garage is by far the cheapest for miles in our area - Autotec in Ripley. He also does some work for Bowler, and gas conversions.
He drives a p38 with a 5.0l engine and multipoint lpg.
Other options are Asda and a Total garage near Sutton in Ash 49.9p  :roll:
They make up their own prices  :shock:

A lot of supermarkets sell cheaper to get you to shop there as well. tactic has been around for years.
If they are opposite each other then the Petrol based ones will generally price match the supermarkets.

cheapest ive found is the small local lpg plces - as little as 32ppl at times - price varies with diesel prices (cost of delivery)

bp have been ripping us off on LPG for ages - i paid 51ppl at knutsford a few weeks ago  :shock:

As far as I know, you can sell for no profit, but if you sell at a loss it is considered unfair competition and it's illegal.

As for BP, well, they were the first garages I saw charging £1 and above for diesel, and the last ones to fall under the quid mark.

dont use gas, but i notice the prices are all over the place depending on were you go.
id have a nice propane bottle in the boot i think, 47kg for £35 go a few miles on that, and roll around a treat.

Thought autogas was a butane/propane mix?
You can buy a pump to transfer the gas from a bottle, if you turn it upside down it pumps as liquid.
Illegal to do both ways as the bottle is not taxed as road fuel nor tested
Dont know how many litres you get out of a bottle but the pumps are expensive so would need to be alot
