Title: rear seat belt mounts
Post by: mcb on January 28, 2007, 19:08:26: Dose any one know how i can replace the rear seat belt mounts as rusted out and will not pass an m.o.t like it.
and wotes the besy way of doing this :?

You'll have to cut out the rusted section and weld a patch over the hole. It will have to be a fully welded patch for an MOT. Then drill new holes for seatbelts and refit.

it's the mounts by the back door the mounting bolt the blet go's on to over the wheel arch

Post by: Bulli on January 29, 2007, 08:32:24: might be worth weling in or patching the area then welding in a thicker back plate for strength. The plate doesnt have to be huge but will give you more peace of mind.
Have a look at the plates they sell for mounting harnesses only about an inch and a half square.
