Hi,

A halogen conversion should not be used without a relay, you are sending all the power needed for the lights through the light switch, and when on full beam through the indicator stalk.

The relay is switched by the light switch, and then it transfers all the power from the battery straight to the lights. It may be costly it if burns out the switch and/or cables.
Have a look here Vehicle Wiring Products (http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/), you should find something suitable. It's not a difficult job, will take about an hour or so.

Regards,
Rob.

I've used conversions on 3 Minis, 2 260Zs, a Jensen Healey and my 2A with no problems (or relays)  I'd suggest either a bad earth or a dodgy switch (in that order)
