Hi Guys
I have a 1996 (N registration) Suzuki Samurai. I would be grateful for any advice or guidance you can give me...
I called the RAC out 2 weeks ago as I was unable to get the car to start (after parking at shops for 5mins). RAC diagnosed the alternator as faulty and took me to my local garage.
The garage found nothing wrong, I drove car as normal for a day or two. Then I lost electrical power (dimmed lights, heater, radio, wipers etc) when driving home and drove straight back to the garage.
They have now found the alternator is faulty and are having problems getting a new alternator. The existing alternator has no markings or part/model number on it. Apparently there are upto 5 or 7 possible alternators, they have already tried 3 (without success) and the supplier is unwilling to send anymore incase they don't fit.
Has anyone else experienced any similar problems? Or can anyone advise on a course of auction?
Thanks
Scott

Certtainly the Vit was available with a 75A Alternator on the CFI engines as this is what I run on mine.
If you have the part number I have a spare unit that requires a refurb, probobly cost you about £20 ish.
