I see a lot of different alternator on ebay,
i m in the process of adding lots or things that draw power so i want to add the second battery and a bigger alternator.
i suspect im running the 55amp on the 110 at present (not looked)
i see 85 and 120 alternotors is there any to avoid or can i just buy an 85 amp and bolt it in

Landrover actually make a 120Amp alternator for a range rover or something, it will fit onto a 200tdi defender.. i have it on mine..
-
i suppose as long as its v type belt they must be interchangable.
i suspect its the aircon models and T/C
thanks i will have a look on the bay
if you happen to know the part number that would be well handy but dont worry to much

I've heard that before, do we need to upgrader any wiring?? or is the original up to the job?

Yes... with anything over standard you should uprate the wiring... very easy to do though.

i run x2 100 amp alternators (one is down geared) with 45mm2 cable to x2 900CCA excide dry cell batteries. works a treat. alternators were £120 each batteries another £150ea. works a ticket with my winch etc...
