http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuIL1xwPCig
have recently uprated my pc hoping it was a memory thing but still does the same now
can anyone think y this happens?
or of an other progam(pref free  )
thanx simon

i had the same thing but it went once id put more ram in ...try reloading the software
-
only loaded it back up last night onto new pc so looks ike to you still not enuf memory then m8?
simon

what is the spec of your pc?
what is the source of the video (camcorder/mobile phone etc?)
what connection do you use between the two?
what is your current method of transcoding onto vid?
by spec i mean processor speed, memory amount, hard drive space.
-
syl
ill have to come back to you on pc spec as not got a foggy
i take straight off dvd via a dvd camcorder to my dvd re-writer
and wots transcoding??
simon
-
looks to me like the framerate is set too low
-
sound ok no worries
firstly make sure your transfer is via firewire not usb2 as video transfer is smoother using firewire than with usb2.
also ensure your pc's resources isnt being hogged (no apps are running when you boot up other than your video editing software)
app-wise you could do worse than pinnacle studio and ulead videostudio (personally recommend both) cos they both do the same job more or less and they can output to what you want format-wise (avi, mpg, rm etc)
-
i'd check the framerate setting before anything else............ the "jumpyness" is constant and doesnt vary.
-
syl you got download linx for the above
aby cant find anything for the fragmentation thingy on the windvd program
syl im not sure wot you mean by using firewire??
im using the dvd drive on my pc and run the dvd throu windvd progam
simon
soz guys bit thick when it comes to pc stuff
-
i mean what does the cable look like which you hook up the camera to the pc?
them software i mentioned aint free but you can buy them from amazon (they arent expensive either)
-
soz m8
noo
i conect dvd camcorder to my dvd recorder not pc then play it on the pc dvd re-writer to clip it for event pix and short clips if i can ever sort the jumping out
-
With the camcorder you should have two leads, other than the Red, White & yellow one to connect to a video/DVD recorder. These will be a USB and a Firewire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FireWire) cable.
Try downloading the video into the PC direct from the camcorder and not through the DVD player. It could be that there is something about the DVD recording that the PC playback doesn't like.
As SYL said, use the Firewire cable to download. If your PC is less than 3 - 4 years old then you should have a Firewire connection on the back of the PC, near the USB terminals.
I also use the Ulead program but for simple clips etc then Microsoft Movie Maker (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx) will do the trick.
-
syl just been and lookt at my dvd camcorder it dont have a firewire conection so thats chuffed it
-
The Firewire cable plugs into your DV outlet on the camera, well it does on my Sony DCR-TRV265 anyway.
-
budgie
i got a canon dc95
lookt on fleabay not showing one on there and nuffin in the box except the usuall red/white and yellow pluged wires for conecting to tv and such

budgie
it looks like ive got the only dvd camcorder that dont have the right socket for firewire
-
Thinking about it, there was only the USB cable and the one you have in mine. I got a Firewire cable from shop in the town, cost about £7 IIRC.
Just looked at the Tech details of your DC95 on Amazon and you're right, it doesn't have a Firewire or USB interface on it.
As I understand it, it records direct onto a DVD within the camera, is that correct?
If so, then can you put the DVD from the camera into the DVD reader in the PC?
Maybe worth a try.
-
yeah it does m8 but my re-writer wont read it so have to record it onto my dvd recorder then use the dvd in my re-writer long winded i no but best i can do its ok to take still's off for my gallery just wont do film clips
.have downloaded wmm just have to figure out how to use it cant see if it will play off my re-writer or does it have to come off the hard drive?

You should be able to capture from the DVD.
Click on "Import Video" and select the drive letter from the menu.
-
what you wanna look for is a frame rate setting. it will most likely be in the export settings, where you choose what type of file you want to export the video to, etc. needs to be around 25-30 fps to be what you'd find on tv. the lower the fps, the more jumpy it will be
-
riiight so its a dvd camcorder whereby you record then burn straight to dvd on the camera itself, hence from what i can see it has no outputs (why would it!)
so... to capture it onto your pc from a dvd could take a bit longer but is doable
you could get imtoo dvd to mp4 converter (google for imtoo) where it rips the dvd into relevant sections, then it converts them to mp4
now i dont know whether the mp4 format is accepted by youtube but its an option you could try
the conversion does take a while cos its copying from dvd

right guys had a wonder round windvd
this is wot ive found
quick clip settings
width =240 pixels
height=180 pixels
capture interval=200ms
play speed=500ms
does this help?

Stoopid question, it is set to PAL isnt it??
and if theres an AUTO setting try that!
-
my money is on the "capture interval" being the retarded way of saying "framerate". mess with the capture interval and playback speed, and i wouldnt mind betting that you'll get a bit further with it
