Title: air suspension

anybody got any ideas osr went down whilst laning yesterday . woud not come back up . drove home60ish miles still flat stopped several times still flat drove last 2 miles and it came back up . from home 10 miles ok came out 15 mins later and flat gain now every time its run it goes up then shut it off it goes down .any ideas`

The normal fault is ether leaking air bag truppets, the metal part under the airbag on the axle, blow the suspension up then spray soapy water around the base of the air bags, bubbles mean leaks,

Or the valve block or pipe leak, same again have a spray around with soapy water, :lol:

Hi Robert

your problem potentially sounds different to mine as at least mine stays up until i go laning, best thing to do is check for leaks

what is the chances of you coming to the meeting on wednesday as RRB and i have been discussing my problem - he has checked on rovercom and may be able to give you some ideas as to your issues.

it may be electronic - the height adjstment may have had a dummy spit

This one soounds like a leak, pipe joints or the airbag if you are unlucky, also the O rings that form the valve seats in the valve block.  Not sure that would have stopped it inflating though unless a leak has now lead to something else, possibly the pump overheating :?

Ela I think yours could be height sensors but like everything on the DiscII these are really over-complicated too :roll:

yep got under  car with soapy water and shes blowing bubbles on the air bag . back to the visa card ouch!!!

You may be able to reseal the air bag, normally it leaks due to crud building up on the mounting flange, give it a go you never know you might save youself a few quid :lol:

Didn't someone suggest using that 'tyre slime' stuff - you know, it comes in an aerosol, you squirt it in and it fixes small punctures.

No, the slime type stuff has to be rotated in the tyre to coat the inside of it, it then becomes more viscous as it 'dries'.  It needs to be in place before the tyre is punctured.
