sometime ago i found this nice light bar that went wround the wind screen and had 3 tubes that went over the defender cab.
it wasnt sold as a cage but looked abit like a 1/4 cage as bolted to the wing tops and roof.
i cant find them anywhere does anyone know where to buy, i saw them on ebay but didnt add to me watching list
-
I think they are call windscreen protecters i am in the process of talking the fabricator at work to make me 1.
-
With witbread doing a full cage for around 250 ok you will have to have it welded up (£50-£100??) the last time i looked at those protecters they were £200 so why not spend just that bit extra and have a proper cage that might actualt protect you.
-
because mark is in the same boat as me and thinks a full external cage on a 110 looks pants and dont want anything internal as were fitting beds in the back for expedition use
-
surley a cage with removeable rear stays? i know what you mean about looking pants but if you only have to pay a little more for something that could potentialy save yours and others lives then sureley its worth it?
-
Didn't know you could get them with removable rear stays.
Got me thinking now
-
thats the thing,
I can see me having to make one but it takes me ages with an old file and a stone grinder lol.
good point about the cage but like steve say they look a little pants, i think a 90 on simmexs looks the Dogs B** but the 110 look a bit mm not sure,
I was thinking i might put some support bars in side but If it is bolt on , i would rather take it off and straighten it in the event of a roll , at the end of a day its a lightbar with windscreen protection. certainly not doing anythig at speed. the last 110 i accidently put on it side the damage was minnor after a fair thump to the ground and being it was "company car" it didnt matter to much,
will search for windscreen protection
-
just keep ane eyeball on ebay, he often has them on there.
-
bearmach do these windscreen protectors
ba2900 is the cat number , will find out the price later, not gonna be cheap
-
