Hi all,
My power booster pump isnt working. It isnt providing the servo assistance so the brakes are really hard to press and well its undrivable.I have done the test procedure using the blink code from the ecu and it came up with the following :
2-8
2-9
2-3
The haynes manual only states 2-8,but in usual haynes fasion doesnt tell you what to check,it just says check wiring !! Oh well thats useful :?
I've tried reading all the codes so they reset but after an hour of reading and reseting it still keeps throwing up the same error codes.
The pump itself isnt buzzing at all.Ive checked the fuse and the relay.
The pump is getting about 14 volts at 2 of its pins on the black 5 pin plug,so i assume the pump is goosed.
Is there any other tests i can do ?
Also is it straight forward to replace ? Any de pressurising to do ?
cheers

Just went back outside to do more head scratching.
I've noticed another connector on the bottom of the pump.On mine its white but apparently on earlier models its black.
Anyway, with the ignition on ,one pin is earth and the other nothing !
Im assuming this should be live,is this correct anyone ?

You need a copy of the workshop manual on CD, it will have all the blink codes listed and the wiring diagram. Shame you aren't closer.

Thanks rrb,i do have one of those cd's somewhere,i'll take a look.

right i've had a look at the diagram,it on the electrical bit D1.
I can identify the 5 pin switch and the motor but im not very good at reading circiut diagrams so i dont really understand it
RRB,
Do you think you could take a look for me and tell me what the 2 pin connector should be ? The way i read it is 1 wire goes to the relay and the other to ground. Is that correct ?
cheers

I'll have a look when I've got half an hour. I'll pm my e-mail too.

well i just thought id let everyone know that the problem is now cured.
The pump was found to be working after i bought a used one but the little pressure switch fitted to the pump wasn't working. So the switches were swapped and now its ok again. :D
