just a quick question, iff driving on reasnoble depth of snow is it best to deflate tyre pressure to say 20lbs ? to increase footprint or leave at normal presure so tyes cut through the snow. cheers alan.....

You must know something I don't, if you are thinking of dropping tyre pressures matey! The snow will not be that bad in the UK!
-
Depends on the size of tyres I guess, but rally cars use thin tyres, and all the time I spent in Norway we used standard 205 tyres at normal pressure, although they were studded
-
only got 205's on mine . a/t's but not a good brand. do the job. just fancied doing a couple of lanes tomorrow, even got me sledge ready. probably wont get much ?. alan....

Got a problem down here at the mo, AQUAPLANING!!! Lol!!
If each drop of rain was a snowflake, I'd be WELL happy!!!
-
tricky question that, Yanks drop pressure to 3 - 5 lbs as do the icelandic monsters to sit on top. I dont think you have much choice in the matter with 205's or 12.5's for that matter.
The real difficulty in deeper snow is it forming a handy wall infront of the axle.
If it gets good just remember turn back b4 you get too badly stuck, warm drinks, plenty of food a sleeping bag and a BIG shovel!

or stick the locker in, over to difflock and hit the loud pedal

That's very true, I guess it depends on whether you want to cut into the snow for the grip that's underneath or stay on top and not sink into it (bit like sand).
