Hi ,has anyone ever brought any alternator brushes online ,my alternator is a quinten hazel one.
-
if you can find an auto electrican, they will install and give warranty on new parts. well worth it. a new regulator and bench test with warranty cost me 35quid.
-
Some places will tell you that you can't get the parts to service LR alternators. My local motor factor was disgusted when I mentioned this as they could supply all the parts needed at minimal cost. I hope I don't get caught that way again - a service exchange alternator is not cheap. The brushes or diode pack is.
Talk to a good motor factors!

Had talk to local motor factor today ,they can test it £10 ,and new regulator with brushes in it £10,so hope its not not completely dead !

job done £17 new brushes regulator ..... dont always have to buy a new one ,well pleased

Where was that then ? What type of shop ? All the motor factors round here seem to be ones for Chavs.
Mines packed up again - after 6 months. Typically, i have lost the receipts so i cant get it on warranty.
I need to get mine tested i think - but where ?
(Im in the Ely/Cambridge area).
Thanks

Well, just took my diode pack/brushes off and the brushes are non existent / covered in mud.
Looks like i need a new pack - where do i get one from ? The guy i bought the alternator from hasn't ever heard of buying them seperately.
