Now I hope I'm not missing something glaringly obvious, but.......
How do you(I) add a link onto a posting in the manner that quite a lot of you do who aren't 'Techno-phobic Luddites' like me.
I mean the ones that read along the lines of;
'Heres' a picture of a nice looking Landie that i saw the other day'
How do I join in?

There is a row of buttons above the window where you type posts - the last one says URL. Click it when you want to enter a web address, copy and paste - or type the web address in (like http://www.mud-club.com) and click URL again :)
In fact, typing a fully formed URL like I did above, means it will get transformed into a clickable link anyway, without the .URL bit.
If you want to hide the link and have your own text linked like the Mud Club! (http://www.mud-club.com), you need to type [ then url= then the full URL then ] then your text and finally [ and /url and ]
(I've typed it out like that because you would just see a link otherwise

Glad some one has asked that and had it explained ;) cheers for a clear answer gords, shortened down my sig a bit..

Yes I am a Luddite, it don't work for me :)

Andy, copy this into your sig:
Andy's Landy (http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/Andy%20the%20Landy/gallery/Andy's%20Landy)
to give you a link that says "Andy's Landy" and points to your gallery :)

Okay lets try again after you're all being so helpful
New photos on my'WebShots' (http://community.webshots.com/user/bushtuckerman50100)

Well, 'whoop-dee-do!!!', 'b-u-g-ger me!', 'Tip-Top!' & all those quaint expressions :)
It's s bit long winded though, rather than 'copying & pasting'
Mmm, I wonder if I can get away with Big White Sheds On Wheels.com ] (http://www.touringandtenting.com)

You soon get used to it
It's not too bad - open a new window (CTRL-N if you use Windows & IE), go to the place you want to make a link to and copy the address (including the http bit).
Now you just need to type then paste in the URL (CTRL-V) and finish it off with ]my link text (http://[/color) ... easy peasy :)
Have you seen the help page for BBCode? There's a link to it under the Options section, just below/left of where you type new messages.
