Has anyone dealt with these? i wondered how reliable they are when it comes to shipping dates as i just purchased some stuff from them via calmini and the delivery date is 4 - 6 weeks :?
-
Hi Metz-was thinking of buying some stuff of them myself but when talking to them all they seemed to be interested in was Jeeps,i think i will buy stuff but make a day trip and go and collect.

Aparently theyre waiting on calmini to ship their stuff over to specialist leisure in warrington, so james from SL told me on the phone anyway. I'd drive for the things myself but the vit aint got a snorkel and i heard the atlantic can be deep in places  so i'm stuck with 4 - 6 weeks.
Just hope it doesnt turn into 4 - 6 months ala la supertrux style

I know Patrick Kear (the boss at 'S-L', I think he set the company up), as hes a friend of my brother-in-law & he tends to be okay.
He's got a nice collection of JEEPs;
The white one on the website

A Forward Control (it got rolled whilst on a trailer a few years ago though)
A Ford prototype (for the original contract)

Ah cool, well if theyre pretty decent with the stuff i ordered i will be back again next month for some bumpers :-D
-
I have used them for stuff that had to be shipped in from the usa and the estimated wait for delivery they had told me was near enough spot on. I would be happy to use them again
-
As has been said above, they have to import from USA.
-
not wishing to take money from peoples wallets but are you not able to order direct?
i know i saved a fortune on my 3 link from safari gard...and i got it in less than 2 weeks.

Vits float  Dont ask.

I had heard ordering direct from Calmini was a pain in the backside as they were in no rush to ship parts. If this is wrong then maybe i will try direct next time but i didn't want to take the chance. Atleast specialist leisure is only an hours drive away should i need to go there.

It's my understanding that this is the problem Specialist Leisure and LA Supertrux have too. That's why they are suggesting a 6 week wait, I suspect. When I spoke to LA Supertrux a while ago, they were despairing at Calmini. They just couldn't predict any delivery dates from them.
-
Yea i suspect your right, james a S-L did say he has regular "screaming matches" down the telephone to the guys at calmini.
-
yeah because gettign the hump helps?? sorry but if someone phoned me having a pop when any sane company ships things when it has them...then you are back to the bottom of the pile.
The reason i went direct for the 3 link way the saving and the fact i had it in no time and sl had said 2 months.....
-
Too pricy for Jeep parts...IMHO
-
Keep waiting, wouldnt advise buying calmini stuff thru a UK dealer(sorry uk dealers)
You may as well hit Calmini direct, or go thru a US dealer(rocky road outfitters?) and get is sent across the pond, at least then you can track the delivery, and get em a bit cheaper.
You may even ...erm....avoid import duty.......!
