:sobsob: I miss my series motor :sobsob:

Good deal there by the looks for £1,500. That also appears to be a Series 3, with the bulkhead windscreen mounts and plastic grill.
-
Series 2a as i had a 2a on a J platebut it has series 3 grill and bonnet
-
Yes, sorry as I was not thinking. But it does have a Series 3 bulkhead...
EDIT: In fact, one of that age should have lights in the grill and not have a Series 3 front end.
-
Only one way to tell. what is the VIN number?

had series 3 bulkhead and series 2 dashboard
How's that supposed to work? The Series 2 dashboard is part of the bulkhead, which is entirely metal and nothing like the Series 3 dash... :?:

Looks like you have a nice clean motor there andyfloss03! 8)
I'm going to be looking for one soon :D
-
thats how it was  it must have been bodged to fit

The last owner said something like it is a series 3 but its registered under a 1966 "d" plate which makes it tax exempt or something like that. On the wayhome we seemed to be going quite fast its made grinding noises is ok nowbut just idles a bit low ...?!? any clues

Be warned. Depending on the circumstances you could have an illegal motor there. I'd advise seeing what it is made up of, as well as compare the VIN against the chassis number.

P.s.
Rich please don't start casting dispersions on someones pride and joy. I'm sure it's perfectly legit. There is true mongrals out there.

Hi,
I'm the joint owner of the bits n bobs Land Rover with Andy, we bought it on Saturday. The previous owner was saying it was orginally a 2a and was rebuilt on a series 3 galv chassis. The log book of for a 1966 Landy, hope the chassis change still makes it tax exempt. Will check out the VIN as suggested, not that I know where I'm looking :)

nah its all checked out its fine was a series 2 chassis just has series 3 shell but it all works out ok. thx :D
