1st April is the start of the new Tax year.

Yes it is the fifth........ that is the end the 5th of April........new tax year starts on 6th :D

The Tax Year Begins on 6 Apr and ends on 5 Apr the follwoing year but most people end their Financial Year on the 31 Mar, apart from those that really hate accountants and end in December, so that they have to work really hard at Christmas.

april the 5th is the goverments year end and the 6th the start of a new one.

From a companies perspective all payroll information needs to be submitted to HMRC in this period.

A companies financial year does not have to fall in line with this and can start in any month.

Personally my financial year ends on the 31st march which means its about time i caught up on my accounts!

oh thats good as im looking forward to my money as as my surname is a B im quite high up :D

bring on the money! altho i will only have 30 quid left as the rest is going on my lady :)
