High guys, im doing a business studies project on un-ethcal company....obvious choice..wheel clampers, dont we just hate the thieveing pieces of grime?? Has anyone had this experience with clampers and in particular MPC (midlands parking contracts) Replies would be appreciated xx
-
Do they make clamps big enough for the wheels?
-
I got clamped in Hackney on my way to London 2 Brighton
they clamped passengerside front wheel
i got in the otherside and did not see it... there was no notice on the windscreen..
I started to drive off... thought I was caught on the kerb so accellerated harder... few turns later the clamp klunked off..
no damage to my disco

Funny this one, I got clamped and towed away and London.
The thing was, the clamp was on when I picked her up (only cost me £200 to get her back, bargain!!!) the clamp wasnt actually done up as the chain would not reach

i hate clampers as much as the next man, probably more, i park illegaly most of the time, but as long as they have clamped were they are allowed to and correctly, you cannot really moan.
if you are correctly parked you will not get clamped.
im not sticking up for them allthough it probably sounds like it, but i do believe if you break the law, dont moan if you get caught!
we all do to some degree, and there are more important things that need policing, im sure even the old bill would agree, but the rules are there and all aspects of the law have to be policed.
cannot believe i just spouted that.
-
I got clamped... (only found out cause i phoned them as there was no notice) because I was not in the marked bay
the disco was longer and wider than the markings.. was as close as i could get

I know at least a couple of mates who were done by MPC.
-
I got done a couple of years ago.
Here's my story...

Yeh MPC are around in bromsgrove they dne me just before christmas..£295 i only went to get some chips..i even ofered to move but they werent having it. I think this project shall be consructed properly and to the book but nock them for six at the same time. Then i shall hand it to our Mp of bromsgrove MPc themselves and then also send a copy away to trading standards, just to stir it up abit

I met this person once that ran a car clamping company and they told me that the clamps for landy size tyres are so expensive that they hardley ever bother getting them cos its not worth, there something stupid like 800 quid or something!!!!
Touch wood tho i've never been clamped even tho i dont always park were i'm not suppoesed to!

Years ago in Milton Keynes shopping centre parking was free and there was plenty of it. Not like that now, I see from my last visit. However if cars were not parked in a bays, i.e. obstructing access to pavements or parking in disabled bays without permit the cars were clamped. The money raised went to Shopmobility, providing facilities for disabled shoppers. Seemed a nice idea, better than some rouges out to make as much money as they can. I do not know if they still do it.

he he...
I was at our local vue cinama, i parked on the paving out the back as there was nowhere else to park, came out after to find some plonker trying to put a clamp on a 35 inch tyre !
never got fined tho 8)
another one was parked on double yelow, warden came up to put a ticket on, just started mooving along REALLY slowly lol cant give me a ticket as i wasnt technically parked..!
-
Knowing an someone from Irland hows into trucks, i've heard quite a few stroies of dublin clampers foolish enough to stick car clamps on lorries
The clossest i've been to getting fined was parking out side a chippy whalst a passager went in. The second vehicle to pass me was a cop van and i happed to be half on double yellow and half on white zig zag #-o.
Yes sir
Sorry sir
I'm gone sir
Being late at night (they were probably on the drunken yob patroll) i got away with just a warning. I think they were a bit surpriesed that some one was being polite to them at that time of night.

got clamped on thurock services when i was in my truck best thing was the thick clamper put the clamp on my mid lift axle so i just lifted the axle up and drove off. and the boss made them come to our yard to remove the clamp SO they had to travel from london the derbsyhire :D . Best thing was they could not charge for fuel and the clamp was undamaged :D

Chris my little bro had strife from the same carpark. As they couldn't fit a clamp over a 235/85 IT sahara then just sent him a fine in the post. :( The claimed he wasn't using any of the buildings which was a lie as he went to use the Mc donalds there and then walked into town.
My secondary school has tried to clamp both me and my mate for not having parking permits (even though we were both students) Finding they couldn't get clamps over 7.50's or 235/85's they gave up and just called the head of 6th and he gave us trouble for parking there.
Then i got into trouble again for parking of the grass as the car park was full.
