I hope some1 can help here.
I have a analogue timer on my combi boiler at the mo which I am finding very fustrating. for central heating it is either on/off within a 15min window as there are little things you pull in and out for off or on.
I also have a room stat in my down stairs hall way (dont know why. would be more use in a room I sit in like the lounge surely?)
anyway. Could I change the room stat to a digital programmer stat? Where I used to live we had a thing that you could set the temp for on to 20C at 6am for example then go down to 15at 8am when u go to work then back up to 20c before u get home then at weekends u could put different times in. It also ran on batteries. It was a Potterton make iirr.
Anyone know what I am on about and if it is do-able?
cheers in advance.

I have recently bought and installed exactly what you describe, got it on ebay for 20quid, installed it myself in half an hour, works a treat.

I think many combis have analogue timers as standard but they can easily be swapped for digi - find out the model and check the local plumbers merchants?

They sell the digi-stats at B&Q, the ones with batterys need to have a recieved on the boiler and only some boilers can do that.

We have the unit downstairs that is programmed for the week this works as long as the timer on the combi is turned off
