Post by: beattiedh on March 03, 2007, 20:07:47
Hi All

My wife has a MReg 300 TDI (road use only....so far) however when we drive along an uneven country road the suspension on the rear is decidely crashy. We feel every bump and it is noisy.

Any advice would be greatky welcolmed.

many thanks

Duncan

check the bushes on the rear suspension components as well

i would say bushes first, if it was shocks it would just bounce about, if it was a bust spring it would sit on the list (normally).

Bump stop missing.  Julies TDi bottoms out more than you'd think but you really feel it on one corner as the bump stop is missing.  Yes I know I should fix it, the parts are in my toolsbox

It could be something as silly as the shock absorber bushes, but there is only so many bushes to check, I imagine it will become obvious when you have a look around
