Did my course in St. Helens, near Warrington.
Probably a little far for you to travel

Maybe not a lot o' help, but our place sends folk to here (http://www.mgts.co.uk/) for it's welding courses.

It's Coventry, so it's possible in two hours, but only just!

Cheers

Did mine at Sutton Coldfield College. City & Guilds for £99. Ran an evening course and a Saturday morning. May be worth checking colleges local to you that train for engineering.

This site (http://www.thewelderswarehouse.com/) has a college course finder under information on the left-hand

Most decent college's run welding courses, my mate used to teach them, I did welding as part of my City and Guild and had to have it tested at 3 tonne per inch of weld, worth doing a course though, it like riding a bike, I haven't touched a plant in about 12 months but I could get straight back into it tomorrow!!  If its for DIY welding it might be worth teaching yourself, must be something on the net, if its for a job though bits of paper are what stand out to employers these days, not what you can actually do
