Did I hear the 11:00 news correctly on Radio 2, that someone 'down south' has crashed a Bugatti Veyron?
I missed the 12 Noon news & can't see anything on the BBC News pages (http://news.bbc.co.uk/)
Was I hearing things???
-
just spotted it this second on www.thesun.co.uk
-
shame the idiot hit another vehicle.
40mph road, doing 100mph? (this is the Sun so that will be exagerated).
he should be locked up and the key thrown away
-
Wouldnt mind betting the (unreported) damage to the astra is fairly minor.
-
in all fairness the veyron doesnt seem to have come out of it too badly... although it just proves the point that keri is always on about -
every day cars hit a wall/car/tree/stop sign/etc and you DIE a cold death
expensive supercars etc etc get hit by a falling piano/10ton acme weight/etc and everyones happy.
just shows you how much harder expensive cars are really

Not really true. Take a look at what it actually takes to do the dmage that Veyron has sustained to something like an older BMW, My Audi 90, an older jag etc. Its more to do with poor build quality in cheap cars. Firsat company I worked for did a LOT ofr work for TRL and MIRA who do the crash tests and it was eye opening, and part of the reason I'll never get into a small car.
And then look at what it'd take to do that damage to a Volvo 240 :)

thats pretty much what im saying/was trying to say lol :)

So it was a week old and rented to the driver for £20k a day!!
I bet the owner is gutted, especially has he paid over the retal price for it!! :?

Oh no. :(

If it's a rental, there will have been a *huge* deposit which he won't get back! I looked into renting something exotic a while ago but the deposits were often more than the rental.

Plus it will be insured.
Anyway, how many of them are left now I wonder, they only made a handfull.

Some pictures of it on here http://www.wreckedexotics.com/ as well as some other prangs

100mph on a 40mph in the rain......................thats just stupidity
what a waste of a car
-

What a plonker ... I notice there's not much detail about the damage to the astra van, or the pregnant woman.
Do we presume it was a glancing blow and she is ok ?
Or is the destruction of a handcrafted Bugatti more important than her unborn child ?
I did notice that they mention "Vauxhall Astra van carrying a pregnant woman, who was taken to hospital as a precaution but later went home"
& "Surrey Police said the luxury car was driven by a man who had a male passenger with him"
They trying to say summat or what
Do they do Veyrons in pink :?:
-
LOL Thats funny  What a prat.
-
Whats the saying?
Large supercar, small.......................amount of common sense! :D
-
i read about it in the papers and it said that a 4x4 driver stopped at the scene and really berated the bugatti driver then drove off.... any takers???
it is kinda suspect that the guy driver had a "younger" male with him and not a female??? :(bigshock):
oh well
