Title: Front Doors
Post by: graham2306 on March 07, 2007, 13:04:00
I'm selling a spare pair of doors I have on ebay.  I've had a couple of people ask me if they fit post 93 vehicles and what width they are.

I measured the doors and they are 864mm wide, the ones on my f plate 90 are 862mm wide and I put that down to manufacturing tolerances.  Looking at the parts catalogues, and when I bought them, I was told there are only 2 types of door, push button and lift handle.  Anyone on here confirm or disprove that?

Yup - lift up handles on the early ones and push button from about '87 onwards
Both doors are interchangeable and both will fit ALL 90/110
You would however need to change some fittings if changing from one to the other

Got this from a prospective buyer when I told him I thought there were only two types

Hi Graham, there are four different types of the defender doors, they are early lift up type (part number stc542) push button up to 2001 (ALR 6256) push button 2002 to 2005 (BDA 710020)and then push button 2005 onwards (BDA710190). i think the 05 onwards are a full 6mm wider. the 2002 to 05 have brackets on the frame where the window regulator assembly fits for either manual or electric windows, that why i wanted to know if their is a part number for them. regards Richard

So there you go, now we know.
