Iv not tyred them but for that money you can get, a set of lift spings. i got a quote from mail order 4x4 of 100 + 7 postage for 4 bearmach blue springs. And if you lift it, you will what some new uprated shocks to deal with the role anyhow, but you can always do them at a later date it will just restrict you axle articulation.

This firm seem more reasonable!
ebay no 170087630929
The firm seem to have a web site at http://www.wizardbilt.com/ as well.
I have never used them so can't vouch for them, and built my own 2 inch spacers for the rear of my Disco for around £15.00 from solid ali bar (100mm).... you only need to drill two holes.
I haven't got around to doing the front ones yet as you have to allow for the shock going through the middle......... and have since got some RR springs for the front which will lift around 1.5 inch in total.
Good Luck

unless im strangly mistaken de carbon make shocks, and they are normaly orange and black.

The thing with the spacers is that they don't uprate the suspension at all. If you go for the correctly rated springs to cater for the lift, with uprated shocks, then you end up with a better ride.
If you use your standard springs then you have to look at how old the springs are cos if they are past their best then you're just wasting money on the spacers.
As Andy has said, for £110 you can get the correct springs and for £192 MM4x4 will throw in the shocks as well!
Island 4x4 (http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/discovery-9498-accessories-offroad-equipment-c-72_79.html) do the same kit for £199.99 with free delivery.
Plus you have to think about your insurance as well, they are likely to have less problems with a full kit built for the purpose then they are if you just fit spacers.

Is the wizard on here then? Do we get discount???
My rear end is quite soggy on the old tired springs and 2inch spacers, but it did let me fit 265/70 Macho's, which is really what the lift is all about..... to get more air under the diffs. Its nice and flexible though.

Sorry but I'm with Budgie on this, I don't like spacers.
Once you lift the car you need stiffer springs to get it to handle, spaced springs may well get coil bound before the axle reaches the bump stops which is not good either.
With a proper set of 2" lift springs you will be doing more than just putting a bit of daylight under the car.

Still got the springs and if so how much?

I'm not advocating the spacers over the springs........ I am sure that longer, uprated springs will give better results.
I was only pointing out that if spacers have been decided upon, then there appears to be better value options.

Sorry Doris, I'm not picking on anyone in particular and it's only my opinion after all.
I don't like spacers.
I do finf tha a new set of springs will give a little bit more air under there anyway, I fitted H/D Police Spec to RRR and that went up near 2" anyway, not what I actually planned :?
I'm told that 4 red/whites (RRC Rear,H/D) work well on a 90 too.

Hi.
Wizard is a member of the Discovery Owners Club (D.O.C.) forum.
Not sure if he does a discount to DOC members or on here.
Email him on the ask a seller a question thingy.

I'm always open to a bit of haggling.
My spacers are the same as the ones above only £30 cheaper.

When Wizard offered me something for free I tried haggling with him but he wouldn't let me have it any cheaper :(biglaugh):

No need for apologies 'Blues
I just did not want to be misunderstood.
The uprated springs and longer shocks must be the best way to go if you have the extra cash. They will take roughly the same time to fit........ especially as you will probably damage the front shocks getting them off to put the spacers on anyway!

Andy, is that you Mr Postlethwaite?
and a new beast to play with?

I personally have nothing against the spacers, can and have had some made. Now run red/white h/d rears on the front, with h/d rears with spacers on the rear
The spacer kit I find, at £100, is more suitable for turning a 2" spring lift into a 4" lift for a more extreme off roader rather than a road car

hi gav
it is me, i liked the look of those discos you and james on the last run. so the following week end went and bought one! im about half way through swaping bits around and am after new scorpian springs and a few other shine bits. i even has diff guards for this one!

I think our 200's had just about had their day, when do you think she'll be ready? I know James and Deano are desperate to get back out to Wiltshire.

If I was to fit +2" springs to my Disco 1 would I need to replace my shocks and hoses?
Taz

If you fit plus 2 inch springs you will need plus 2 shocks to go with them.
If your standard springs and shocks are still giving good performance then fitting spacers is a more economical option.
In either case extra length brake hoses are not required but are a "nice to have" if you intend to get the most of your axle articulation.
I have a plus 3 inch lift with standard hoses but the anti sway bars limit the articulation a bit.
Its all horses for courses at the end of the day.
