Title: NATO hitch
Post by: Range Rover Blues on November 14, 2004, 12:19:16
Looks like now is the time to pick up a spare NATO hitch, there's half a dozen on E-Bay starting at less than a tenner!

I mention this because I know there was some problem getting hold of them recently, I have seen S/H ones change hands for £75 or more!

I've got one in the shed, I'm only looking for £20 for it.

Paul,

I might be interested - if it is a combination ball/nato style, and rated on the ball for more than 2.5 tonnes.

A lot of the combi style that I've seen are not rated to pull much on the ball.

Alaric.

It's just the standard nato hitch, No ball.

I don't think the combination style hitches are positive enough for a NATO hitch trailer, so better avoided unless of course you only want one for recovery.  You can also use it as a high-lift jacking point.

I think I read that the combination hitches are Brazilian Army spec, rather than NATO but could be wrong.

Yea, Andy, that's the sort of thing I was after. They don't come cheap though!

I'd have thought Paul's would be genuine nd a bargain at £20
I'd have it myself if I hadn't already got one,

True, but it's what I wanted for my needs having also a normal hitch trailer as well as the Sankey I can tow both.

£70 is what I paid for mine, I can PM you a contact email address if you are interested  :?:

Thanks Andy, but I have seen that at that sort of price. I only have occasional use for the pin hitch though, so £70 is a bit steep.

You can pick up a (copy of) Dixon Bate's pinball wizard for £36 and change if you know who to ask.
