Title: NATO hitch
Post by: Range Rover Blues on November 14, 2004, 12:19:16: Looks like now is the time to pick up a spare NATO hitch, there's half a dozen on E-Bay starting at less than a tenner!

I mention this because I know there was some problem getting hold of them recently, I have seen S/H ones change hands for Ã‚Â£75 or more!

I might be interested - if it is a combination ball/nato style, and rated on the ball for more than 2.5 tonnes.

A lot of the combi style that I've seen are not rated to pull much on the ball.

Post by: Range Rover Blues on November 14, 2004, 19:44:26: I don't think the combination style hitches are positive enough for a NATO hitch trailer, so better avoided unless of course you only want one for recovery. You can also use it as a high-lift jacking point.

I think I read that the combination hitches are Brazilian Army spec, rather than NATO but could be wrong.

True, but it's what I wanted for my needs having also a normal hitch trailer as well as the Sankey I can tow both.
