My cooling fan is on all the time, I have replaced the switch, believing the original was at fault, but still on all the time, has anyone else had same/similar problem, if yes, what was the fix?

What type of system is the electric fan, also is the temp guage reading high all the time
I presume you have tested the opening temp on the switch sensor

I'm not certain what fan it is, how do I tell?
No, the temp gauge is fine now, since I replaced the gasket (front of cylinder head).
I have looked at the circuit diagram in my old haynes manual, having replaced the switch, and NOW understanding how the switch works, I believe it could be a relay, I pulled off the LH kickboard/facia to discover a set of relays, but do not know which, I suppose process of elimination, and a bit of shuffling them about to see if one of them is knackered, or one of the techie guys on Mud-Club could state which to look at, Immediately under the facia, their are 4 relays. 1 green & 3yellow, with a bit of wrist manipulation, I also see a couple of others stashed out of the way, not having a good relay to play about with, I am a tad worried if I [!Expletive Deleted!] something else up by taking a good relay out of its socket and insert a duff one.
Advice please  :?
